Summer Wedding at Yester Estate in East Lothian | Andrea & Angus
This gorgeous Yester Estate wedding took place on one of the warmest, summer days of the year in June, a pleasant change from the usual grey weather here in Scotland.
The day began with Andrea’s bridal preparations at the nearby Archerfield Cottage overlooking the Firth of Forth.
We then travelled to Yester Estate where the stunning ornate gate in the rose garden was the backdrop for their ceremony.
Fairytale Wedding at Carlowrie Castle, Edinburgh | Michelle & Donald
edinburgh wedding photography
The wedding between Michelle and Donald was not only a beautiful display of love, but a union of two cultures and families. It was especially touching to see the bride's family and friends from Mexico travel so far to be there, marking the first time they had met the groom's family. As their wedding photographer, I was honoured to capture these precious moments of two families becoming one.
On the morning of the wedding, Michelle enjoyed getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids at the beautiful Bruntsfield Hotel. The excitement in the room was palpable as they all helped each other get dressed and prepare for the big day ahead. Soon it was time to head to St Margaret's Catholic Church in South Queensferry for the lovely ceremony which was filled with touching moments and heartfelt vows. The historic church provided the perfect backdrop for the couple's nuptials. After the joyful celebration of their union, the wedding party made their way to Carlowrie Castle in the West of Edinburgh for the fun-filled reception.
Fairytale Carlowrie Castle Wedding photos
The sun was out in full force during the wedding reception at Carlowrie Castle, providing the perfect opportunity for guests to congratulate the newlyweds while basking in the warmth of the sun. The talented Jordan Murray played a wonderful acoustic performance, enhancing the overall ambience. While the guests enjoyed their fizz and canapes, I took Michelle and Donald away for photographs in the breathtaking grounds surrounding the castle. The joyful atmosphere of the day was only enhanced by the beautiful weather, making for an unforgettable wedding celebration.
Before dinner, speeches were given as both families expressed their heartfelt thoughts and sentiments about the newlyweds. The light and airy dining room had tables adorned with exquisite floral arrangements and miniatures of tequila, each wrapped in a tartan bow, which were a thoughtful nod to the couple's blended cultural backgrounds. After dinner, guests were treated to traditional ceilidh dancing, accompanied by the lively tunes of the Cora Band. It was such a pleasure to capture this wonderful day for Michelle and Donald.

Autumn Wedding at Kirknewton House Stables | Kirsten & Connor
“We cannot thank Siobhan enough for photographing our wedding day. She captured such incredible shots whilst making us feel so relaxed and natural. Everyone commented on how discreet she was from beginning to end. From our first meeting to emails in between, Siobhan has gone above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and prepared for the big day. I couldn’t have asked for better pictures that we will cherish forever. Siobhan - you are such a lovely, talented person and I will be recommending you to all of my family and friends!”

Autumn Wedding at Kirknewton House Stables
I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful autumn wedding for Kirsten and Connor at Kirknewton House Stables just outside Edinburgh. As I arrived at the venue, I was blown away by the beauty of the location. The rustic stables were adorned with stunning floral arrangements in shades of orange, red, and pink that perfectly complemented the autumnal theme. The couple decided on rustic decorations, including sentimental photos, which added a personal touch to the event.
The morning began with Kirsten getting ready with her girls at the stunning bridal preparation suite. I was able to capture some beautiful candid shots of Kirsten as she had her hair and makeup done. The atmosphere was full of excitement and anticipation, and I could feel the love and support from her bridesmaids. As they shared stories and laughter, it was clear that Kirsten had surrounded herself with her closest friends on this special day. After Kirsten put on her beautiful Kavelle wedding dress, it was time for one of the most emotional moments of the day- Kirsten's first look with her dad. As she stepped out, his face lit up with a huge smile on his face.
Kirsten took her dad’s arm and they made their way down the aisle towards Connor as the string quartet played softly in the background. The celebrant, Duncan Fleming, had crafted a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony that perfectly captured the couple's love for one another. One of the most touching moments was when they participated in a hand-fasting ceremony, signifying their commitment and bond.
Kirknewton House Stables wedding photos
After the ceremony, I took the bride and groom away for some couple photographs in the beautiful grounds of Kirknewton House Stables. The foliage was filled with autumnal colours, offering a stunning backdrop for the intimate portraits. As we walked around the grounds capturing the special moments between the newlyweds, I could feel the love and happiness radiating off of them. Connor and Kirsten were beaming and their joy was contagious, making for some truly magical photos.
As the sun began to set, the guests made their way into the main hall for dinner. The tables were decorated with beautiful autumn coloured flowers, tying in perfectly with the theme of the day. The couple's naked wedding cake was a stunning focal point, adorned with delicate flowers and their names as the cake topper. It was then time for the speeches, always a great opportunity for capturing priceless reactions from the couple's loved ones.
After dinner, it was time for the party to begin. The evening reception was filled with lots of laughter and fun times with family and friends. The cutting of the cake was a special moment that was celebrated by everyone, and the couple was beaming as they shared their first dance as husband and wife. The band, The Rays, played a variety of hits that kept everyone on the dance floor all night long.

Intimate Spring Wedding at Leuchie Walled Garden in East Lothian | Hayley & Richard
EAST LOTHIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
As the wedding photographer for Hayley and Richard's special day at Leuchie Walled Garden near North Berwick in East Lothian, I was truly honoured to be a part of such an intimate and personal celebration. The day began with bridal preparations at the bride’s home before we made our way to the venue.
OUTDOOR LEUCHIE WALLED GARDEN WEDDING
Their wedding took place in the springtime, and Leuchie Walled Garden was alive with vibrant flowers and greenery. Hayley and Richard chose to have a humanist ceremony outside, surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was lovely to work alongside Claire Watt again who conducted the most beautiful service. A string quartet played music as Hayley walked down the aisle with her brother.
The atmosphere was filled with love and joy as Hayley and Richard exchanged their vows and committed to a lifetime of happiness together. It was clear to see the strong bond between these two.
Immediately after their ceremony, their guests lined up as Hayley and Richard walked through a confetti tunnel - always great fun to photograph! They also wanted some group shots of their family and friends in attendance as they’re such a nice memory to look back on.
Leuchie Walled Garden has so many amazing spots for wedding photographs, I loved exploring with the bride and groom and making use of all the grounds from the rustic brick walls to the tree-lined woodland paths. Their beloved dog, Bailey, was also in attendance which added a sweet touch to the occasion. I love when dogs are able to be a part of the day!
The reception was held in the garden before entering the tipi for dinner, which added a rustic and charming touch to the celebration. Hayley and Richard put a lot of effort into incorporating DIY and craft elements into their wedding, and it really paid off. I loved their wedding favours, little individual plants adorned with ‘let love grow’, which their guests could take home.
As the wedding photographer, it was such a pleasure to capture all of the special moments of the day. From the joyful tears during the ceremony to the dancing at the reception, I was able to document the entire celebration for Hayley and Richard to look back on for years to come.
Thank you, Hayley and Richard, for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. It was an amazing day!
A lovely testimonial from Richard and Hayley:
“Siobhan photographed our wedding earlier this year and was genuinely the highlight of our day. She is incredibly talented and every photo, was perfect, it spoke our story and captured us and our guests exactly the way we wanted. We had our dog with us too and she was great at keeping her entertained and in check for those special moments.
We were so thankful to have found Siobhan last minute and she is so lovely. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone who is detailed focus, SO organised and one of the friendliest people I have met – even when our first meeting was on the wedding day itself! I felt I knew her already. I can’t believe how amazing our photos turned out.
Thank you again and to anyone considering booking Siobhan, do it – you won’t regret it.”

Intimate Wedding at Edinburgh City Chambers and The Balmoral Hotel | Hatice & Andrew
EDINBURGH CITY CHAMBERS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Hatice and Andrew's wedding was a beautiful and intimate affair, held at the historic Edinburgh City Chambers. Their civil ceremony was attended by close family and friends, creating a cozy atmosphere for the exchange of vows and promises of forever. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and I embarked on a leisurely stroll through Edinburgh's historic streets. From the iconic Royal Mile, with its bustling energy and majestic landmarks, to the quaint charm of Victoria Street, we immersed ourselves in the city's timeless beauty. Each corner revealed a new backdrop for capturing Hatice and Andrew's love, as they laughed, embraced, and enjoyed some alone time together. We even stopped at the Vennel, which offers a breathtaking view of Edinburgh Castle, for some stunning portraits.
BALMORAL HOTEL EDINBURGH WEDDING PHOTOS
Afterwards, we made our way to The Balmoral Hotel, where the late afternoon’s festivities awaited. Before joining their guests in the Annan suite we headed to the rooftop of the hotel to capture a few more portraits. The birds-eye views of the old and new town of Edinburgh made for stunning backgrounds.
Soon they joined their guests and enjoyed a glass of fizz while listening to the heartfelt speeches by their family and friends. They were filled with anecdotes and memories that brought tears of laughter and joy to everyone present. It was a celebration of love, family, and the bonds that unite us. Before digging into the delicious dishes prepared by the talented chefs, the newlyweds took a moment to cut their wedding cake. With smiles on their faces and excitement in the air, they shared this special tradition, marking the start of their life together.
Hatice and Andrew's wedding was a beautiful celebration of love, simplicity, and heartfelt moments. As their photographer, it was an honour to capture Hatice and Andrew's special day, and their love story against the backdrop of the picturesque Edinburgh City Chambers.

Rustic Countryside Wedding at Wedderlie House in the Scottish Borders | Kate & John
Rustic Wedderlie House Wedding Photography
Kate and John tied the knot at Wedderlie House, a new and exclusive wedding venue set in the Scottish Borders. This secluded 50-acre estate is home to unrivalled views, charming function spaces and the most beautiful grounds. It really is a photographer’s dream and upon arrival, I just knew K + J were going to be utterly spoilt for backdrops.
Everything about Kate and John’s relaxed Scottish countryside wedding was memorable – from the funfair games to the dreamy styling and details. The couple tied the knot on a summer’s day in July, and despite the unpredictable Scottish weather deciding not to play ball, the rain certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. We were fortunate enough to still make the most of the grounds and gardens on offer at Wedderlie House, capturing some gorgeous couple portraits of the newlyweds, as well as their bridal party.
With plenty of accommodation at Wedderlie House, the couple and their bridal party were able to spend the morning getting ready at the wedding venue. The bride and her team of bridesmaids carried the most beautiful bouquets, which were brimming with wildflowers that looked as if they had been handpicked from the garden. The couple’s florist, Verde Flowers, had actually grown the blooms as well as creating the bouquets, using lots of blue and purple accents to tie their colour scheme together.
Scottish Borders Wedding Photographer
Ahead of Kate and John’s humanist ceremony, I captured an emotional first look with the bride and her father – a moment which always means the world to document and is often irreplaceable. The Stables were decorated with handfuls of foliage and fairy lights galore with pretty posies attached to the aisle chairs. Following their humanist ceremony, the couple’s guests gathered to create an epic confetti tunnel.
There are usually a spare couple of hours in between the ceremony and wedding breakfast, but Kate and John made sure their guests were having a brilliant time. The couple wanted their celebration to be filled with fun vibes, opting for mini golf (an activity they had always loved doing on dates) table football and funfair games that went down an absolute treat with their friends and family.
The garden marquee at Wedderlie House was a charming setting for Kate and John to wine, dine and celebrate with their favourite people. They decorated the blank canvas space with colourful bunting, floral table stationery and jars brimming with blooms. It was a Pinterest-worthy set-up! The speeches were followed by night of laughing, singing and dancing. It truly was a day to remember, and it was an utter pleasure to be able to capture K + J’s wedding day at Wedderlie House in the Scottish Borders.

Pamela and Christopher's wedding at Crossbasket Castle in Glasgow was a perfect blend of sophistication and relaxed charm. The elegant setting of the venue was complemented by the easygoing nature of the couple's special day. From the stunning scenery to the carefully curated details, every aspect of the wedding exuded a sense of understated luxury. As a wedding photographer, I was honoured to be a part of such a beautiful celebration of love.
The wedding day began with a buzz of excitement as Pamela, her mum, and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite. Meanwhile, Christopher and his groomsmen were adding their own finishing touches to their kilts. As the wedding photographer, I took the opportunity to capture every detail of the wedding party’s accessories, from Pamela's sparkly Jimmy Choo's to the custom-made, wooden ring box.
Pamela and Christopher's humanist ceremony, held by Julie Reid, was filled with so much joy, laughter, and smiles. The couple couldn't help but beam with happiness as they exchanged their heartfelt vows in front of their closest loved ones. They exited the ceremony through a magical tunnel of confetti, surrounded by the love and cheers of their guests. The beautiful sun-filled reception that followed in the enchanting gardens of Crossbasket Castle was the perfect way to celebrate their love and new beginning together.

After capturing the beautiful moments of the ceremony and the reception, I stole Pamela and Christopher away to take photos in the breathtaking grounds of Crossbasket Castle. The lush gardens provided the perfect backdrop for their portraits. Even Alfie, their adorable beagle, made an appearance for some sweet family photos. The couple's love for each other shone through in every shot, and I was thrilled to capture these special memories for them to cherish for years to come.
The grand dining room was truly a sight to behold, beautifully decorated with floral arrangements and chairs adorned with gold bows. Before dinner, the guests were treated to heartfelt speeches filled with laughter and memorable anecdotes. It was apparent how loved Pamela and Christopher were by those surrounding them. As the night went on, the party moved to the dance floor, where the band SHEB kept the celebration alive with their lively music and infectious energy.
